Modest Family Scholarship
We are so grateful for the support of the Modest Family, which has allowed the creation of these scholarship opportunities. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Santa Cruz County is pleased to announce the availability of scholarship funds for Club youth, alumni, and current staff members pursuing post-secondary education. This initiative aims to support ongoing and higher education for current and former members of our Club Community, specifically targeting former Youth of the Year recipients and Club alumni, as well as current Club Staff working towards higher degrees or certifications.
We thank Club donors and supporters Michael and Monika Modest for creating this opportunity for members of our Club community.
Funding Levels: Scholarships will be awarded at three different levels, each designed to assist students at various stages of their educational journey:
Level 1: Junior College Student
■ Amount: $1,250 per year
■ Duration: 2 years
■ Total Funding: Up to $2,500
Level 2: College/University Student
■ Amount: $2,500 per year
■ Duration: 2 years
■ Total Funding: Up to $5,000
Level 3: Graduate Studies (AVAILABLE IN 2026)
■ Amount: $5,000 (one-time award)
■ Duration: 1 year
■ Eligibility: Offered every other year for students pursuing a Master’s degree or
higher professional certification.
