Arts & Music

Music Lessons

Ages: 6 & up | Cost: $35.00 per 4 week session
Due to limited space and increasing popularity, Club members may only register for 3 consecutive sessions of music programs before they are required to take a break for one session.

Piano Lessons

Beginner: Wed 3:00 – 3:45pm
Intermediate: Wed 3:45 – 4:30pm | Wed 5:00 – 5:30pm

Guitar Lessons

Beginner: Fri 3:45 – 4:15pm
Intermediate: Fri 4:30 – 5:15pm

Studio Recording

Ages: 8 & up | Cost: $35.00 per 4 week session
Learn how to record and mix your own music in our professional recording studio. Parents may sign their child up for one of the following class times
Tuesday & Thursday each week:
3:30 – 4:00pm
4:00 – 4:30pm
4:30 – 5:00pm
5:15 – 5:45pm
5:45 – 6:15pm

Band Workshop

Ages: 9 & up | Cost: FREE
A workshop to educate and develop song writing, musical collaboration, instrument technique and live performance skills. Prior experience in an instrument is recommended however not required. By the end of the session, youth will have learned how to play and perform music in a band setting and potentially play a planned performance in Santa Cruz.
Tuesday & Thursday each week:
5:00 – 6:00pm

Swim Lessons

Group swim lessons

Ages: all | Cost: $35.00
For help deciding which class your child belongs in, review the Swim Level requirements and skills.
Level 2: Tu and Th 4:00 – 4:30pm

Level 4: Tu and Th 5:20 – 5:50pm

Private swim lessons

Ages: all | Cost: $40.00 per 45-minute class

Swim Team / Water Polo

Ages: 6 & up | Cost: FREE
Level 4 swimmers. Combo class provides basic skills and understanding of water polo and swim team competition in a recreational format. Swim Team is continuous with no breaks between sessions. You may enroll any time, payment due per session, pro-rated for mid-session entry.

Karate Class

Ages: 6 & up | Cost: $35.00 per 4 week session
Beginning Class (6 & up): Wed & Fri: 4:00 – 4:45pm
Intermediate Class (orange belts & up): Wed & Fri: 4:45 – 5:30pm

Basketball and Biddyball

League is open to girls and boys 1st – 8th grades.

League runs April 9 – May 16
Catch, throw, and dodge your way through this exciting and fun league! Dodgeball games include traditional, basketball, army, and medic. Registration includes dodgeball shirts, tournament, and pizza party at the end of the season. Meets twice per week.

Cub Scouts

Grades K – 5 | Cost: Boy Scouts of America dues apply, scholarships available.
Pack 674 is focused on exciting outdoor adventures, safety, community service and character development. Pack 674 is excited to be welcoming girls and boys! Parent participation highly encouraged. Digital Audio Studio

Ages 10 & up | Cost: $35.00 per 4 week session
See how a song starts from an idea to a billboard chart topper. Learn how to record vocals and live instruments using Reason 10 and turn your songs into a reality.
Fridays 5:00 – 7:00p

Beat Production

Ages 10 and up | Cost: $35
Learn about the tools used by many DJs and hip hop producers to create their legendary sounds. See for yourself how easy it is to make your own tracks using Ableton Live 9. You’ll be producing hits in no time.
Monday or Wednesday 5:00-7:00p

Beginning Piano

Ages 6 and up | Cost: $35 for 4 week session
Introductory level piano class to help youth learn how to read sheet music, develop music theory and learn basic piano songs.
Fridays 4-5p
Limit 8 students per session


Surf Club

Ages 11 and up | Cost: $175 which includes 2019 Club membership
Surf Club meets every Wednesday at Opal Cliffs Park for the entire school year. Parents are notified via email each week if ocean conditions are safe to surf for beginners. Transportation is NOT provided. Members learn ocean and wilderness safety, first aid and CPR as well as how to ride a wave, commune with nature and get the best of “Soul Surfing”. Watershed Rangers

Grades: 2nd – 8th | Cost: $10
Is your child interested in the great outdoors, science, hiking or learning about how they can protect the environment? The Watershed Rangers program engages youth in exploring the San Lorenzo River and conducting scientific investigations to learn what impacts the health of the San Lorenzo River. Youth will take field trips to Loch Lomond Recreation Area and Henry Cowell State Park, as well as walk from the Boys & Girls Club to explore the San Lorenzo River in Downtown Santa Cruz. The Watershed Rangers Program is provided by the Coastal Watershed Council in partnership with us and with financial support from the David and Lucile Packard Foundation.

Recreational, skills-based 9-week swim team. Must be a Level 4 swimmer.

Girls Basketball

Ages: 3rd – 8th graders | Cost: $99 ($79 if registered by May 1)
This 9 week recreation-orientated program provides a fun, positive and semi-competitive atmosphere for girls entering 3rd – 8th grades. Teams will practice for 1 hour Monday or Tuesday afternoon, and have a single 1 hour game, Thursday or Friday afternoon. Players develop agility, coordination, endurance, flexibility, speed and strength.
June 10 – August 9th (no practice or games Thurs 7/4 or Fri 7/5)
Time: 4 – 6pm

Basketball Work Opportunity

High School students wanting to learn the ins and outs of refereeing and scorekeeping can assist with our girls league for Grades 3-8.

Flag Football

Ages: 8-14 | Cost: FREE
The 49ers Prep Flag Football is a brand new program to educate and empower youth through football. Meets at Santa Cruz High School.

Summer Brain Gain

Ages: 6 – 11 | Cost: FREE
Prevent summer learning loss! Summer Brain Gain focuses on reading, programming, activities, projects, and assessments. All Club members will participate in our Brain Gain program. Classes are designed to be developmentally appropriate and help Club members reach our priority outcome areas of Academic Success, Good Character and Citizenship, and Healthy Lifestyles. Curriculum has been designed to engage members in hands-on learning experiences that may include: cooking, gardening, technology, sports and fitness, art, music, performance and Community service. A well rounded youth grows into a successful adult.

Aliberti Clubhouse Summer Offerings (2019)


Ages: 9 – 12 | Cost: FREE
To promote interest in and awareness of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) and provide STEM-related learning opportunities for traditionally underserved groups, including girls and young people of color.
Fridays 2 – 3 pm

Smart Girls

Ages: 8 – 10 | Cost: FREE
Health, fitness, prevention/education, and self esteem enhancement program for girls. The program is designed to encourage healthy attitudes and lifestyles. Registration begins June 15th.
Mondays 2 – 3 pm

Green Team

Ages: all | Cost: $5/day or $50 for whole 10-week summer
A summer long community service commitment. We will be going to Henry Cowell State Park in Felton every week and providing community service in many ways such as: River clean up, trail care, helping visitors, eco-system help, brush clearing etc. There will always be some fun involved! We will be taking the city bus to and from the park each day. Child must have lunch, backpack, water bottle, hat, suit and sunscreen for each trip. Good walking shoes is a must!
Every Wednesday 10:30 am – 3 pm

Beach Team

Ages: all | Cost: $5/day or $50 for whole 10-week summer
A summer long commitment where we travel all over Santa Cruz County to help learn and beautify our community. We will travel by city bus to coastal locations including beaches. Child must have lunch, backpack, water bottle, hat, suit and sunscreen for each trip. Good walking shoes is a must! Layers are important for this trip!
