Who We Are

Our mission is to enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as productive, caring, responsible citizens.

We offer daily afterschool programs five days a week at our  downtown Santa Cruz, Live Oak, and Joe & Linda Aliberti Clubhouse in Scotts Valley. Our staff provide supervised “walking buses” to help get kids safely from school to the Club, and daily activities included homework help, art, reading, physical activities, self-directed play, and free healthy meals. In addition, we offer seasonal specialty programs that include art, music, swim lessons, a surf club and a youth basketball league.

We’re also open when schools are closed: we host day-long summer and holiday day camps, and are available during many school in-service days.

Youth Development Strategy

We want to help youth gain self-esteem and achieve their full potential, so all Club programs are organized and implemented with our Youth Development Strategy in mind.

We give youth:

A Sense of Belonging:
A setting where young people know they “fit” and are accepted.

A Sense of Power or Influence:
A chance to be heard and to influence decisions.

A Sense of Competence:
The feeling there are things boys and girls can do, and do well.

A Sense of Usefulness:
The opportunity to do something of value for other people.
